Local captures and settings

Screenshots, recordings, GIFs, edits and preferences are processed and stored locally in this extension’s browser storage. The publisher does not receive those captures through the app. The app has no analytics, advertising tracking, automatic error-report collection or remote licence verification. Errors may be shown locally to help you complete an action; the extension does not persist or send error reports to the publisher. Chrome or your operating system may independently provide diagnostics under their own settings. Your operating system, Chrome, website, network or a separate service you use may have its own data practices.

Opening the recorder starts a video-only live preview of the selected browser tab or area. An initial temporary screenshot may appear while the live stream connects. Preview frames are held only in memory; no audio or microphone is captured, no recording file is created, and the recording timer remains stopped until you choose Start. Cancel, navigation or closing the page releases the preview. On Start, preview capture is released before the recording stream starts with your selected audio settings.

Permissions

Required extension permissions are activeTab, scripting, tabCapture, storage and downloads. They let you inspect the user-selected tab, capture it, keep a local library and save exports. There is no blanket all-sites access, browsing-history permission, notification permission or unlimited-storage permission. Clipboard writing, page right-click menus, Google identity and Google Drive site access are optional and requested only when you choose the related feature. Microphone access uses a separate browser prompt only if you choose it. Review each prompt before approving.

Optional Google Drive

In the Chrome version, when configured and explicitly selected, the app uploads your selected export to Google Drive using Google authorization and the drive.file scope. Each user authorizes their own Google account through their Chrome profile and uploads to their own Drive. The publisher OAuth client ID identifies the app, not a shared Google account. Tokens are handled by Chrome and held temporarily for the selected action; the extension does not store them in its local library/settings or send them to a publisher server. On a shared computer, use separate Chrome profiles for separate users. It does not automatically upload your library. Link sharing is optional; check its setting before uploading. Google processes the content and account data under its own policies. Disconnect Google Drive in Settings to clear cached tokens; revoke the app in your Google account to remove authorization completely.

The current Microsoft Edge package does not configure native Google Drive sign-in. Local exports can be uploaded manually through the Drive website.

Optional donations

The donation button opens the publisher-supplied PayPal.Me profile. The displayed QR code opens the same profile. This is optional; no PayPal script is loaded by the app, and no payment card, PayPal login or donation confirmation is collected by the app. Opening PayPal shares the usual browser/network information with PayPal. PayPal and the recipient may receive transaction and payer details according to PayPal’s checkout, account settings and privacy notice. Donations do not affect app access.

Hourly support reminders

Only the next reminder time is saved locally. The first reminder is scheduled after an hour; later reminders appear no more than once an hour in an available extension page. They wait while you record or export. The reminder does not track donations or report whether you saw or dismissed it. You can choose Not now to dismiss the current reminder. It never opens PayPal automatically.

Streaming-site checks

The extension inspects the selected source URL and identifiable embedded URLs locally to apply its bundled paid film and TV site blocklist. It does not send inspected URLs to the publisher or save them as browsing history. The current source tab reference, selected coordinates and source URL are held only in Chrome session storage for capture actions.

Terms acceptance and previous versions

The app stores the accepted terms version, acceptance time and app version locally. It does not send this acceptance to the publisher. Old licence records left by an earlier install are ignored by this version and are not sent to a payment provider. The free app does not create new licence or trial records.

Retention, deletion and support

Delete captures from the library or clear extension storage to remove local data. Uninstalling removes the local library and settings. Previously downloaded or uploaded copies must be removed separately. Back up files you want to retain. If you email support, your email address and the information you send will be used to respond and retained only as reasonably needed to handle that request and comply with applicable duties. Avoid sending sensitive captures. Where applicable, contact us to request access, correction or deletion of support data, and you retain the right to contact your competent data-protection authority.
